Labour's fight against poverty and homelessness, support for refugees, fighting for better funded health and education are fully compatible with the Jewish prophetic tradition. It's an excuse - Lewis was under investigation over sexual abuse allegations.

Yeh yeh . There’s always a reason to excuse Labour’s antisemitism. At some point you will remove the scales from your eyes and deal with the problem. The Jewish community has rarely had cause for concern since returning 350 + years ago . Now it is fearful.
-
I'm fearful of a Tory government that has strong relations with their antisemitic counterparts in Poland and Hungary, and is ramping up anti migrant feeling here in Britain. As a Jew I'm not fearful of people campaigning for justice for Palestinians.
-
What makes you think the vast majority of both British Jews and Israelis don’t share the same aspirations for the Palestinians. It comes as a package along with security for Israel and an irrevocable peace accord. Corbyn’s vision is entirely different .

By the way he was being investigated for being a sex pest. Investigation can't be concluded now. How unfortunate for Lewis.
-
If there’s a problem, pass the files to the police. It still doesn’t deal with Labour’s systemic antisemitsm

Corbyn later served as national secretary of Anti-Fascist Action in the mid-1980s; He has signed several parliamentary early day motions (EDMs) opposing antisemitism; In 2002, he was the primary sponsor of an EDM condemning attack on the Finsbury Park synagogue in north London.

Sad, but a great loss to Labour , and a principled stand.
-
He’s under investigation for sexual harassment. No loss here.

Please explain ? Does it mean he has to resign, can be deselected or can he stay as MP till next election
-
He can serve as an independent, though it may trigger a by-election. But I understand he's pretty popular in the constituency, so could comfortably beat whomever Labour select to run.
-
You think? Even though some might see his resignation reason as disingenuous as he was due to have a hearing for sexual harassment early in the NY and resigning makes it go away? Interesting :D
-
Lewis won a 'safe' Conservative constituency and defended it 6 times. As for the allegations, I don't know, the party haven't interviewed him on the matter. If you could give me a source to check out, I'd gladly read.
-
As I said the hearing had apparently been scheduled for early in the NY. I'm sure he'll attend to clear his name and face his accuser.
-
I should hope so. Due process and all.
-
Well he's under no obligation to do so but if I was so wrongly accused I'd insist. I mean if he doesn't some ppl might call this a Woodcock and look at his AS reasons as a smoke screen that in and of itself devalues true AS.
