    Yes, they are. Applin and Fischer 2011:

    one thing people aren't talking about in all of these analyses is the dismantling of customer service in favor of self-service (& especially self-service on the web) in the 90s-early 2000s. that offered gains in some ways, but we see the losses here.

    People likely aren't addicted to phones, they are addicted to maintaining a portfolio of human social relationships. Hire Anthropologists.

    There’s a new study out today claiming that 4/10 university students are addicted to their smartphones. Except… they aren’t, and this study doesn’t/can’t show that. Here’s why (1/n)

    Research takes A LOT OF TIME. Time to think. Time to plan. Time to execute fieldwork and/or data collection/cleaning databases Time to reflect. Time to read. Time to write Time to take notes. Why aren’t we talking more about this? Good research can’t be rushed.
