The judge took the safe, middle-of-the road position. If it hadn't been for that courageous teenage girl's video which was seen by the world, Chauvin never would have even been charged. I wanted to see the maximum+ but at least Chauvin is being held responsible for murder.

Comparing a maximum possible sentence for one crime to the sentence actually imposed in a different crime is a pointless exercise that conveys no useful information.

So he will be out in 10 or less years

Apparently the minimum time served before "good behavior" release can even take place is 2/3rds of the sentence, so exactly 15 years. Pretty danged light considering what happened.
