Woke up upset. My pops is in his 70’s been retired for 5 years, after working 40 grueling years of his life. today, he goes back to work, because SS & benefits r just no longer enough. He’s putting a positive spin on it, proud of him, but he shouldn’t have to do it!
The struggle is truly universal. I thank you all for sharing & see how many of us are experiencing the same thing either for ourselves or our loved ones. It really has me emotional, but I will use this emotion to give even more in this fight to help change things for us all!
Our election is March 17th! If you can, donate to a team giving everything we have in this movement fighting so our parents, our generation, & the next, don’t have to work until death!

I am supporting Bernie, because of my pops! Capitalism is the root cause, & he is the only anti-capitalist. He has a fight for that!
My dad is almost 80, has lived through cancer, has cancer again now but with a good prognosis but still has to work full time just to stay afloat. He had a great job too, one of the first computer programners ever but lost his retirement when ATT broke up. It is so wrong.
My dad has been in the absolute pits too ever since that breakup too. Used to have a great job and salary. Now despite getting a different degree and profession in healthcare, doesn’t have any insurance and can hardly afford to live in a rented room. I’m so upset.
Sorry your dad has to return to work after retiring. SS has to do a better job of educating the working class of their benefits every year. I believe SS intentionally keep us in the dark to prevent a revolt, e.g.: no dental, eye care, income is less than half of when you worked.
As I see it, the heart of the confusion is the cobbled together health system ........Medicare doesn't provide eye & dental......but PRIVATE insurance companies are allowed to call themselves Medicare Advantage. When you sign up for them, they don't MAKE IT CLEAR that they 1/ ...
