It’s unfortunate that you did not use your time in the military wisely. I used my time to get 3 degrees & send a child to college. We used the system to break the cycle of poverty. You failed because you didn’t have a good mentor. Be a stepping stone not a stumbling block

I have 4 degrees & now am a high school teacher. Individual success does not equate to collective empowerment. Glad you were/are successful but that doesn’t change the by design oppression of our communities that is preyed upon. Grab yourself up by bootstraps is a myth.

Generations of brave men from the same family serving our country are awesome. It reveals neither one of you suffered from bone spurs. 😊Thank you for serving this country. We appreciate you.

Thank you for your service. I wish we did not go to war so often, but thank you for your service.

I didn't have money for college. I enlisted to get it. I served, went to college, got my degree with that college money, got a job with the degree. Why is allowing military service to be a reliable path out of poverty bad?

My dad fought in WWII. 10th armored infantry, Purple 💜, bronze star. He tutored at a lower income HS in LA in his later years and he took every opp to talk kids out of enlisting to pay 4 college. He told them, you’re just a number to them. Focus on your education.

.. and the American capitalist & political system is rigged, to ensure it all stays that way!
America does not have a multiparty system, they have a ONE PARTY system with the illusion of a 2 party system. First FIX that, and the rest will follow!
