Y’all are really so weird with this tweet. The implication isn’t that PhDs are sexless humans incapable of a full personal life. The point is that the social, cultural, and sometimes economic capital that comes from being raised by parents with PhDs is a trip for most of us.

I went to get my MS degree, & my mom was like, "bet" and went and got hers. I went to go get my PhD and my mom was like, "oh you think you fancy, watch this" & went and got hers AND completed before I did. She still reminds regularly that SHE was the first doctor in the family.

This made answering the phone confusing when I was a kid. Someone would call and say, "Can I talk to Dr. Peterson?" I would say, "Do you want my mother or father?"
