READ. THIS. THREAD.
On SJW infiltration of sci-fi/fantasy, now almost totally cucked.
Lefties are nasty little authoritarians; there's no debating them.
Take the gloves off; they donned brass knuckles long ago.

It's self-evident, and the SJW's deny it just long enough to wreck the institutions they target. The wrecking is the goal; the "inclusion" is just the emotional/principles cudgel they use to bully trads & conservatives.

The question is whether these conventions have any worthwhile point, They seem like pure invitations to this kind of harmful status competition and grandstanding.

What I'm getting at is that any institution which has status but does not have a vital function is unhygienic. Parasites will infest it and spread. If you want to hang out with your SF buds, do it informally, don't create a vector of infection.

OTOH, this contradicts the conventional wisdom about "civil society" and voluntary institutions creating social coherency. Or maybe it's the same story told from the other side. A detailed theory here would be very valuable.

Ah I didn't really understand what you meant by that. So the dividing line is basically between where you can see - and are part of - the source of the resources that you are using, and where there's an essentially exogenous hoard to take what you can from?
