Let's ban "Let's Ban" as a way of framing cultural disapprovalhttps://mobile.nytimes.com/2018/02/10/opinion/sunday/lets-ban-porn.html?referer=https://t.co/WaufgbsD5o?amp=1 …
No you aren't. You start by saying it's impossible, and then make up increasingly stupid objections as you go along. I don't even care that much -- I am far from sure porn is harmful. It's just another example of why democracy doesn't work.

What stupid objection have I made?
-
That you can't significantly reduce availability of professionally-produced video porn becase today's studios (which are large, legal businesses) release free samples. I'm not even going to debate that. I do not believe you're serious.
-
Do you accept why they release free samples? That they aren't doing it for charitable purposes?
-
Because they expect customers who want more, primarily in the US, to legally make payments to their legal businesses through legal credit card payment systems for site subscriptions. None of which could happen if it was banned.
-
Ok. We ban credit card payments. The companies lose their income source. Production would decrease. I agree.

Unless you have a society that is willing to severely criminalise possession (and will report on networks and users) there isn't a solution.
