"He was warned to stop reporting on Muslim pedophile operations, but he wouldn't shut up.
So we shut him up, OK?"

Weirdly, piersmorgan is right. He is now and again. Anyone can report on any and all Muslim paedophile operations, except those which are currently (or imminently) subject of a jury trial, because that fucks up the trial. Thread:https://twitter.com/anomalyuk/status/1000820281626234880 …

Therefore there is a danger they could see anything that is published about the case they are on. Consequently, it is against the law to publish anything that could influence a sitting jury.1 reply 0 retweets 1 like -

Hmm, what makes more sense: to isolate a handful of people for a few days, or tell an entire nation to be silent about a widespread infestation of child-devouring demons?

Nobody is being silent about the infestation: I posted a bunch of links the other day, all to front-page stories within the last 6 months. Easy to find.http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5539487/Child-sex-gang-seven-predatory-men-abused-girls-young-13-convicted-Oxford.html …

Is it a bad system? Buggered if I know. Trial by jury is a good principle, but the details are hard: in the US it seems to be assumed that intelligent and successful people always get out of jury duty, here a bit less so, perhaps because of this difference.

The details are very hard, I agree.

Right. For better or worse, this is how English law works, at least since 1981, and I think the older common law was not far different. Calling it a cover-up, when a bunch of similar cases were very loudly reported as soon as the trials ended, is misleading.
