2) It’s the digital era. When you make it so expensive to go to a theater for a night out, VCR’s and video rentals enabled more people to see films and now streaming has taken over from video rentals. Movie business should have learned from this happening to music business.
Slightly different though. Music was about ownership of the product, apart from concerts. Moviegoing has always been about the experience. Theater owners are no great profiles of innovation, neither is film industry. But there's still plenty there. Many people still want to go
