Mike Tyson didn't become a less of a boxer when he was exposed as a rapist. MJ didn't become less of an artistic genius when he was exposed as a predator.Allen & Polanski didn't become less talented as directors b/c they raped kids. One isn't contingent on nor excludes the other.

I've always strongly disliked this kind of infantile mentality, where one's dislike or hatred for someone clouds ur judgement completely when it comes to anything that relates to them. Where all ability to remain objective is lost. When you lose objectivity, you lose credibility.

I can dislike, resent, loathe & even hate someone as much as I like, but I WILL NOT LIE. I refuse to compromise my integrity to win cheap points because I'm too emotional to think, act or do better. At the end of the day, it's only yourself you're debasing. Homie don't play that.

People have been saying this for many many years. CAPS LOCK HARRY was a meme over a decade ago.

Never heard of it. Not on the Internet, nor from real-life Harry Potter fans (and "fans" in the truest sense of the word, i.e. bordering on fanatic). That said, I don't doubt that it exists. I'll take your word for it. Doesn't change the fact that a lot of ppl are just "hating."

"suddenly"

When sth didn't exist at this rate before, but rises from an almost indetectable level to a level where it goes from "niche" to "mainstream" awareness, over what is a relatively short time span, then that could accurately be called "sudden*," yes. *Brought about in a short time

And I can respect that. But that doesn't change the fact that a lot, if not the majority, of people who now suddenly "hate" on Harry Potter and JK Rowling's writing, are doing it because of their hatred of her; not just the author, but the person. That's what I take issue with.
