Curious how Armie Hammer decided to do this story? According to the Air Mail pod Hammer “approached [Kirchick] through an intermediary.” What intermediary and why Kirchick? It’s not disclosed! But Kirchick started seeing “a lot of holes” in the accusers’ stories.

I understand why so many podcasts are now including video elements AND YET being perceived while talking is an additional skill set (and requires more labor, in the moment, in the set-up, in the grooming)

Last year my county actually did invest in weeks of tree-trimming (the primary cause of outages). But what if they REALLY INVESTED in putting the wires underground? What if Texas....acted and allocated funds as if these storms are the new reality?

It's a very Texas thing but it's also a very California thing, a very Washington thing — I live in a place that loses power at least once a month in winter; low/no-cost small generators should be available for all (we're all on propane! this is easy!)

Really feeling for those without power in Texas right now — our new reality is that most people should have some sort of generator situation, and reality of that is that generator situations cost $$$ most people don't have

About once a month I log on to Facebook just to see what wildness is going on, and the truth is that the only groups still active and displaying are Buy Nothing Groups filled with incredible need and community groups filled with bitching about service workers

“African American history is not just male. It’s not just straight. It’s not just middle class,” she said. “It has to tell the story of all of us.”

there is no reasonable standard by which anything Coates has written would be inappropriate for a college level African American studies course nytimes.com/2023/02/01/us/

Also I am long on the record as thinking all printers are a scam, a posture I share with many people others who dealt with printers from, oh, 1998 onward. I was told printers are better and guess what, my printer is extorting me
