Now wondering if the Russians didn't actually get their narrative from Mearshimer et al. Moscow needed to say West was responsible for Russian invasions (Chechnya, Georgia, Syria, Ukraine), and not their own greed and imperialism. American academics provided the narrative.

Who would you blame for the 1962 Missile Crisis: Cuba for "exercising" its sovereignty or the US for fearing a Soviet attack from Cuba? By the way, the balance of power doesn't care about what you or I think. Before accusing Mearsheimer, accuse the US for funding 🇷🇺 war machine.
