An incompetent coup, a clown coup, a ludicrous coup, a ridiculous coup - these are all still coups. And if you can't bring yourself to say so, then you don't really believe in democracy any more.

We can't. It's out of our hands. We just have to rely on people really meaning it when they swore those oaths, and being smart enough to apply it to real-world circumstances.
