Whether consciousness is emergent or fundamental, it’s as physical as everything else in the universe (however, when we look closely, matter loses all sense of the word “physical”). I remain agnostic, but I’m betting consciousness goes all the way down.

4/ Everything that’s toxic about Twitter was there long before Elon came on the scene: its addictive aspects, the false intuitions we form by giving voice to people we would never pay attention to, much less ascribe power to, if faced with in the real world…

2/ I strategically approached social media apps as bulletin boards—I logged in, shared my work, logged out. Later, I discovered the usefulness of Twitter for keeping up with news and the scientific and medical communities (still one of its most important functions of value).
