Is it still a factory restore wipe needed to get messenger's access off? I don't remember if that changed.

That's pretty terrifying! And I most certainly do not want to factory reset my phone. Surely that can't be right?! Will have to investigate!

Yeah it used to be a thing a few years ago because there was a loophole with permissions not directly tied to the app itself needing to be on the phone. But I don't know if that changed with people cluing in etc.

Iirc it had something to do with 'enhancing your overall facebook experience' so it detached from the messenger itself.
