Something that changed my relationships was learning to CHOOSE to interpret the best out of things ppl say instead of the worst. Ppl generally mean well.
And expressing frustrations/boundaries calmly *before* they became an issue. Ppl are not mind readers. Help them help you.

That's not to say I've perfected any of this or anything. I'm still working on it daily, of course. We're all works in progress. Nobody is expecting you to be perfect. But you ARE expected to make a conscious effort.
