Something that changed my relationships was learning to CHOOSE to interpret the best out of things ppl say instead of the worst. Ppl generally mean well.
And expressing frustrations/boundaries calmly *before* they became an issue. Ppl are not mind readers. Help them help you.

I do agree with this. Although I have had issues coming to terms with people I’ve chosen to interpret the best from while trying to calmly enforce my boundaries, only to have them shock me something awful when I’ve felt I had to put my foot down.

I thought I was enforcing my boundaries all the while, I don’t know what they thought I was doing? They could keep pushing? I most likely need to work on enforcing my boundaries. I think I’ll still choose to interpret the best but a bit more guarded perhaps.
