Do they not understand how stressful and difficult it is to be the person that is speaking out when noone else is? And not only that, how time consuming, career changing, and costly the entire process is? Nobody should be hounded and pressured into undertaking something like this

You can't do this by halves. It's extremely stressful. If someone was saying this to me after everything I did and everything it cost me to try & change things for the better I'd tell them to fuck right off. People have no idea.

I highly highly doubt any of the women who experienced issues at Ubisoft want to see other women thrown under the bus for 'not doing enough.' Stop trying to speak for us! I want people to protect their own mental health and wellbeing and fight when they have the energy.

1000000% all of this. I'm so mad and confused reading all of these tweets. You can't harass a random (newly employed) narrative designer and expect her to be responsible for who a corporation employs or not. Harassment (in all its forms) is why women are afraid of speaking up.

Ubisoft is a multi-national mega corp with thousands of employees, they are sorely overestimating the influence that one single employee who has been there for 5 minutes actually has as well

They've literally punished her for doing good things! Because she's visible and puts energy into change online, she has to get everything perfect and sacrifice her entire being to 'the causes' or else she's a complete hypocrite who must be made to hate herself, or some shit

All the employees who don't make themselves visible/do anything in this field (and I don't judge that either), arguably 'worse' under these people's standards, get left alone, but the one who's -really trying- in this terrible fucking world gets pushed and pushed to her limits.

Yeah it's absurd. And now she's being harassed by people who claim to be against harassment. It's relentless... This is why advocates burn out.

Yeah, I mean, I was trying to approach it earlier from the perspective of... understanding that they're well-intentioned? And they are, I do still think that! If we write folks off, we're doing what they're doing. But just... so misguided, so needlessly hurtful and damaging.

Just trying to juggle between how incredibly pissed off I am at them and also how condemning everything about them is almost certainly not going to help them -see-. I really, REALLY hope they can -see it-.

Yeah agreed. I'm not condemning everything about them; I understand we want the same things in terms of getting rid of abusers in our industry. But harassing women who are not responsible for ~any of this~ is not okay AT ALL. And THAT'S the bit we're condemning.
