Probably - the original poster (who sounds like a dick) kept asking about it, and Emily made the mistake of saying "I don't know" vs. looking into it - if you're a champion against abuse (which you should be), silence is pretty bad. :(

I think you're several steps ahead of the actual actions she took, which while you have made a logical interpretation that any normal person would, therein lies the flaw. An interpretation isn't what happened, Emily can answer if she asked. Spoiler: She never said she did.
