ADHD peeps... How do you convince your brain that it's time for you to stop whatever you're doing and go to bed on time — especially when you're busy doing Something Interesting™?

I just started doing this last week after a bunch of really late nights, so I don't know if it works yet, but so far it's working better than my millions of 'go to bed,' 'now REALLY go to bed' alarms. I'm trying to use 'all or nothing' to my advantage for habit forming. (1/4)

I've got way more self control when it comes to stopping myself from beginning an activity than trying to make myself stop. If I stay up stupidly late playing a game or reading something, the next day I punish myself and don't let myself do that activity at all. (2/4)

My brain wants a reward but it's not allowed it if it behaves badly. Then the following night I can try again, and if I'm smart, I'll realise that it's more beneficial for me to stop whatever activity at a reasonable time so I can do it again the next day. (3/4)

I've also ditched my phone for a notebook when I'm getting ready for bed so I can write down all the things I suddenly remember at 1am and come back to them tomorrow, instead of ending up in a google rabbit hole for hours when all I wanted to do was add one calendar event

Ahhhh the feeeeeels! Thank you, will try to remember to do this too...
(Yelling at my Google Home to remind me to do X thing tomorrow at a more suitable time is my solution for that late night reminder. Because yep, my phone is kryptonite
