Hey artists, if you want to work in a game studio that ships on PC/Console there is an uncomfortable fact that needs to be stated. There is an unfair bias amongst studios to immediately reject portfolios with mobile, print and web work in it. You’re better off not showing it

I am guilty of this myself. I've found a disproportionate number of applicants for UI Art roles have a mobile/web focused portfolio. Project variety and attention to detail are key. I can only review so many slot machines and Candy Crush clones before they start to look the same.

(I totally agree with your sentiment about portfolio diversity btw. Even though I too am guilty of it, considering its all I've ever worked in... Hopefully whatever I end up doing next is a leap away from all that!)
