A ladybug in Russian will be "a God's little cow" (божья коровка).
Ohhh I loove that! In Swedish it's "key maid". But also, "lady bug" is weird all on its own...
It makes a _bit_ more sense than the British English "Ladybird" though. I mean, wtf? It's not a lady _or_ a bird!
@BigRobotLtd got much enjoyment from folk finding out that Tölva in "The Signal From Tölva", being Icelandic for computer, can be translated as "Number Witch".
The "key maid" is very practical though :) And a bear in Russian will be "the one who knows where the honey is."
