Honestly, that's my issues with horror games or games with shock moments. I am suffering depressions and sometimes I can't get into sleep and when I finally fall asleep I am having nightmares about such a game I played...

Gosh, that's awful. There should definitely be customisation options in settings to toggle these types of shock moments for those who need it.

But how can you fix it? I mean, you have to go to a spider cave or something like that, how you blur them? it's ruins the experience. Maybe if you are that easily trigger by spiders you should look for help? or not play the game? It's an honest question ...

For example, option to turn them into a different insect. In the article they mentioned a game that turns them into slimes. I personally think it's fair enough if spiders are a key part of your design but many games have them as set dressing or minor elements.

CW: suicide/ execution/ trauma I feel this so much. Many games (and movies) dress the environment with ppl who’ve been hanged. Often it’s not even a cutscene/ plot point but simply world “flavor”. This is tremendously difficult for me and would have loved if I could turn it off.

Completely agreed. A simple option in the settings to toggle potentially traumatic content in a way that doesn't ruin the gaming experience for players would be excellent. Games are meant to be enjoyable - not unexpectedly traumatising for unprepared trauma victims.

@SatisfactoryAF has an arachnophobia mode that turns the spiders into 2d pictures of cats. Personally I find 2d cat pictures running at me equally scary but hey, it's there. -
That's awesome!
