I saw a tweet about a woman mentioning her husband who apparently fucked up by not buying an anniversary gift when she told him not to get one and I... I just don't understand this? You told him not to get one? He respected your wishes?
I despise stuff like this. Be clear with your communication. Be honest. Don't "test" people around you, it just breeds resentment & mixed messaging. All types of relationships would be so much easier if people just learned how to use their words and genuinely express their needs.
Completely agree. These kinds of games are cruel in my eyes.
This keeps it simple. Simple is good. Sometimes, people think the fact that I don't care about my own bday is because I am now getting older. It's not. I never cared. :)
I think my point there was about social pressure and how sometimes people won't believe you about "special dates". So, this becomes a game.
