I never thought of it this way :O Even when I use myself as an example of someone coming into a game and feeling really overwhelming easily.
Yep! We immediately empathise and understand the actual issue at hand, rather than just get frustrated because the user isn't doing what seems obvious to a neurotypical person. I'm realising my cognitive disability is actually something that makes me particularly good at my job!
Do you have any examples from experience you can share? I'm curious as a designer with ADHD myself.
Onboarding and tutorials are a great example! How do you break down complex concepts in small bite-sized steps for a brand new user to learn how to play your game? Another is when you watch your playtests, note how you & your NT teammates analyse players' struggles differently!
