Object permanence and ADHD brains is totally a thing. We forget to check in with friends/family constantly. It doesn't mean we love them any less, but if something isn't literally right in front of us, we just... forget. Brain is simply focused on what IS right in front of us.

Ohhhh uhhhhhhhhh it sometimes takes me 4-5 weeks to reply to friends because I keep forgetting.

The great thing about other ADHD people though is that we don't even notice that other people haven't responded to us, and then when they do respond 6 weeks later we're genuinely unbothered by it

Srsly, this is one of my favourite things about Twitter. The sheer number of people that have told me that they've been diagnosed too since I started tweeting about my own diagnosis has been overwhelming. I'm so glad so many people are learning abt their brains & getting support!
