As a traveler, I totally 100% agree. Moving from point A to point B, usually for work related reasons, isn’t a personality trait & doesn’t necessarily make you interesting. Although at least travel photos & stories tend to be slightly more engaging than the average.
Totally. I think personal & work travel are very different though. People who travel to experience other cultures & learn tend to have broad mindsets & a wide range of experiences & knowledge to draw from - but geez just say that's what you enjoy then, instead of just "travel" 
In fact, I actively try to avoid fun as much as I can. Clearly.
