This. People do this on both large societal and also small community levels and it just drives me up the wall.

Whataboutism sucks, yeah. Nowadays I don't fall for it and don't try to defend myself. I just point out the illogical, and frankly unkind, with their whataboutism. It usually shuts them up. Life's too short for narrowminded losers!
