Swedish gamedevs, which union are you all registered in? I'm in Unionen as that was the one I'd been in a decade ago when I lived in Sweden last (but I wasn't working in games then). Is this still the best option?

I wanted to join Unionen but was told by my superiors not to join any union so I didn't.
That was a while ago though. Would have acted differently now.
Uhhh excuse me?! That sounds like a maaaassive red flag to me... Surely they can't tell you that? And surely it would break discrimination laws if they treated you differently because of it?
That said, I hope you're in a union now at least!

Major red flag but it was my first job, it was a start-up and I was told it would ruin the company if I joined. I got the same reaction when I brought it up two years later when the company was successful and stable though. It was one of the reasons why I quit eventually.

Haven't worked at a game studio since then. I'm freelancing now so what I can get from a union is pretty limited. I'm a member of Svenska Tecknare which is an organization for artists rights, offering legal advice and such. If I get a studio job again I'll join a union right away
