Something I find interesting with some of the CV-advice discussions I've seen on Twitter is how different CV conventions are from country to country. Things like CV length, using a photo or not, including references or not, etc etc. What are the conventions like in your country?

I use the cover letter to show that I’ve read the job description and am interested in the company. And I might attach examples of my work if it’s relevant to the job, but I don’t have a portfolio ready to send… I should make one though.

But my CV is American style: one page, with phone number, nationality for work rights, experience, awards, publications.I honestly think cover letters are pretty redundant tbh: https://twitter.com/annabrandberg/status/1287174621465370625?s=20 … Portfolios however are crucial, so yes, I definitely think that if your type of role expects one then you definitely should have one readily available online.
Yeah, I don't like cover letters tbh. They're just lip-service about how much you want the job and how talented you are - as if that wasn't clear enough already: You're applying for the job, and here's your CV. Everything you say in a cover letter should already be in your CV.
