You should understand he takes a third of his income from big pharma and his career and livelihood have been dependent on this condition. He's not exactly independent or unbiased.
Well, yes. His livelihood is just as dependent on ADHD as cancer specialists are dependent on cancer. 
That's how the concept of experts work.

When he's saying things like "Once somebody is diagnosed with ADHD there is no compelling reason why that person should not be on Ritalin or Adderall" it makes you suspicious of him and his motives. Particularly when you learn about him taking a third of his income from pharma
