ALSO writing them down in a safe place at home is 283772819x safer than recycling passwords. As long as your house doesn’t burn down, no physical burgler is gonna be like “look at this page of gibberish! I’ll take that instead of the iPad!!”

This is true, but what do you do every time you travel or need to log in from anywhere that's not your own home? Using a pw manager means partly that you don't need to remember unique passwords, you don't need to come up with them, and you don't need to worry about their safety.
