Might be too much of a case by case question but do you have any advice on figuring out how much and what information needs to "always" be on screen?

Yeah that's a good one, I wanna make it immersive and hide as much as possible, but maybe it should be a user setting, for people that doesn't care about current credits, or the other way around to always have it on..

Why do big AAA games like Gears 5 put collectibles everywhere which take away control and play a lengthy animation + zoom in when you pick them up? I don't enjoy having to sit and watch the same animation play out over and over again when I could be continuing with the game. :/

Also (and this is an ARMA related complaint) what are the reasons to use a scrolling list over a radial menu for object interaction? IMO radial menus are way easier to use.

What does your design process look like? Do you do rapid prototyping and iteration or stick to a more singular idea approach? How often and at what stage do you do user tests to gather some tangible data?
