You don't need to be a graphic artist to make a professional and slick CV. If your role is for eg UX or code, you can still make it look great by considering better fonts and a good layout to make it pleasant to look at and easy to read.

There are lots of online tools for this too if that's easier for you btw! I haven't used any myself, but I've had friends say that they've used a few and ended up with some slick looking CVs. Just make sure you don't overdo it - if you're unsure, keep it simple. Classy > kitschy.
