Hard disagree. You should be paying your employees the same for each role & seniority. King (where I work) for example, is known to have great games industry salaries; they don't compromise on wages for lesser talent. But culture fit is SO important! Soft skills are CRUCIAL.

I'm saying that a lot of companies won't keep experienced staff on when they can keep cycling through cheaper newhires on the same premise that it's easier to "teach them skills" than it is to pay extra for more experienced staff.

And most experienced staff won't stick around if they can get a better paying job elsewhere. Skill and competency deserve to be rewarded. Paying someone who can process twice the amount of work because you believe that they should be paid the same for the same job is silly.
