In many cases it feels like any harrasment is not specific hate against female gamers, just the first easy go to blow for harassment. When someone goes to insult, make fun of you, they go down a list of things they currently know will bug you. It is toxicty in general.
Yes & no. A guy saying "hi" to a new team will often elicit no special response. A woman saying "hi" will often elicit a slew of reactions based purely on the fact that she's a woman. And I'm not talking about general flame - I'm talking about harassment PURELY bc they're women.
If someone different in general starts speaking, a younger kid, or even someone with a weird voice, we see the same thing with them. It seems like it has become a standard to harrass sanyone who sounds different on mic. What you say is an issue, but it happens everywhere. (1/2)
How do you change something so fixed into a culture? Its not Valorant, it is gaming. You are fighting a culture that made harassing woman into a meme. Would love to see a movement that pushed guys to use voice changers online to sound more feminine.
