It's like the non binary equivalent of boy, girl, So can be demeaning/infantilizing. I use it for myself cause my autistic dyslexic brain likes the spelling, but learned early on it's not for everyone, so always best to check with folk on an individual level

I think "marginalised genders" is the best way to describe that these days, as "women and nb" can be alienating for masc non binary people/transmen Marginalised genders is more inclusive and correct!
