It's like the non binary equivalent of boy, girl, So can be demeaning/infantilizing. I use it for myself cause my autistic dyslexic brain likes the spelling, but learned early on it's not for everyone, so always best to check with folk on an individual level

That makes sense. Thanks for the explanation! Is abbreviating to nb ok? (I'm thinking about character counts for when you want to tweet at "women and nb people", to promote a job opportunity or something, for example?)
