TBF, I've always felt that the outright denial that games can be addictive to any number of people --even very small ones-- is a bit wierd. Like, would big companies spend $$$ on behavioural research if it didn't let them tweak how people engage with their product?
For sure. And addiction is something that behavioural experts have realised stems from a number of other factors in an individual's life, and not on the thing being binged itself. Anything can be consumed in excess - it doesn't make the product bad; excess is what's bad.

More research needs to be put into what makes video games so engrossing to certain people. I remember reading a paper title about how games address children's much-needed validation and positive reinforcement that they lack from their overworked and underprepared parents.
