I’ve seen a retort to this, to the extent that even countries with M4A are having this virus, so it can’t be that great can it? Nobody in single payer countries will pay thousands, go bankrupt, be denied due to cost, or avoid doctors bc of money. When I developed an ulcer and had to get an endoscopy, how much did it cost? When I developed a blind spot in my eye and took months of eye exams, how much did it cost? The answer is the same: I don’t remember, because it was so small it never mattered.

In Sweden: I had surgery w full anaesthesia (+ lots of Dr appts). I've gone to the emergencies a few times (physical assault, spider bite, random infections, etc). I did a full psych investigation for my ADHD diagnosis w multiple appts. Plus add all my meds... No memorable cost.
