Just had my own unconscious bias checked with this riddle:
A father & son are in a car crash. The father dies on the spot; the son is rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Upon arrival the surgeon exclaims, "I can't operate on him, he's my son!"
How is this possible?

A classic! I guess now in 2020 the son could have two fathers.

... or have the dead father resurrected by a Necromancer before the surgery? I might have spent too much time in games, though...

Haha yes! Trying to solve the riddle with another male doctor proves the bias but still :)

Yeah the fact that I too thought it must have been a gay couple before I even considered that the surgeon could have been a woman certainly proves the point!

I guess the most correct answer would be "His father's partner"

Nope... She's not just an extension of her husband. This again is simply proving the bias.

I didn't mean it like that, I meant that there are more types of relationships that would work as a correct answer for the riddle. However I phrased it like this because I couldn't think of a equivalent word as a partner but from the child's perspective
