I was diagnosed at 31 after trying to seek help in my 20s and being told I was just "stressed". The idea I was struggling being written off by people because on paper I appear successful and having accomplishments. It felt so good to find a Dr who believed.
Absolutely this. My first therapist didn't know any better either, so I was really happy that I had done my research and could tell her exactly what I had and what I wanted to do, otherwise I probably never would have gotten diagnosed by somebody who knew better.
