I'm so tired of being the one stepping aside for oncoming men on the street who don't even seem to acknowledge there's a person walking here. New rule: Time to just not. Let's see how many men get surprised and angry when they bump into me, because I didn't step aside for them.

Clarification: This isn't just a "manners" thing. Lately I've become so hyper aware of how it seems to almost always be women stepping aside to make space for men. (And, similarly - yet even more so, I see women of colour regularly stepping aside to make space for white people.)

As someone who always tries to move aside for people - this drives me insane when people just walk with no regard for other peoples paths. It causes me an unreasonable amount of annoyance tbh

Yup saaame! Can everyone just learn to be considerate of the space they take pls? (And this raises something that guys get mad about too when I talk about stuff like this: No, of course it's
#notallmen who do this, but when it does happen to me, it's overwhelmingly done by men.)1 odpowiedź 0 podanych dalej 1 polubiony -

For me it’s a total mixed bag - might even be more often women. But when it is women, it usually seems to be a lack of awareness. For me when it’s men, it feels like that is less often the case.

Yep, and when women do it, they almost always apologise once they realise. Men? Hardly ever.
