I'm so tired of being the one stepping aside for oncoming men on the street who don't even seem to acknowledge there's a person walking here. New rule: Time to just not. Let's see how many men get surprised and angry when they bump into me, because I didn't step aside for them.

Clarification: This isn't just a "manners" thing. Lately I've become so hyper aware of how it seems to almost always be women stepping aside to make space for men. (And, similarly - yet even more so, I see women of colour regularly stepping aside to make space for white people.)

I am confused. In Malaysia, we naturally, move slightly move out each other's way. And keep walking. No walking straight into each other, unless your eyes are at your phone. This is common at your location?

This happens sometimes, absolutely, but overwhelmingly I've noticed it's women stepping asiden for men.
