My only concern with game industry that I have a burning passion for not starving and having a healthy work/life balance.
What I read from developers that this industry is not very good at satisfying this. 
Which is exactly why game developers need to unionise! 
It is definitely getting better though - and the mobile gamedev industry is definitely far better at this than the console one, since we work with regular smaller deadlines rather than one single massive one...
Yes! Unionizing would be very important, and I'm glad that things are getting better!
I am programming right now Enterprise and Education software, and if I would lose my job somehow I don't think I still would dare to apply to a position at any game dev company.
