How to heal fresh tattoos perfectly using Opsite/Saniderm/etc.
These are breathable transparent films that tattoo artists now recommend putting on fresh tattoos to make the healing process FASTER & EASIER!
Here's a step-by-step guide as I keep getting asked about it.

You will need:
Opsite FlexiFix (or Saniderm/TatuDerm/etc)
Gentle, unscented soap (I use baby wash. You can use an unscented antibacterial soap if you like, eg Dettol)
Rubbing alcohol
Paper towels (for drying, as towels & toilet paper will leave fibers on your skin)pic.twitter.com/3l7yASU0D7

Opsite FlexiFix is available at most pharmacies, and it's cheap!
(In Australia you can find it at any Chemist Warehouse.)pic.twitter.com/SCFTBGRBez

Note: Colour tattoos and black/greywash tattoos heal differently!
Colour tattoos tend to weep/ooze for the first 24h, so for these it's best to apply Opsite the next morning.
For black/grey tattoos, it's fine to apply the Opsite the same night before bed.1 odpowiedź 0 podanych dalej 3 polubionePokaż ten wątek -
As most of my tattoos are colour, before bed on the first night I'll simply wash & dry (with paper towels) & then let air dry completely. Apply a thin layer of Bepanthen/Hustle Butter & wrap with clingwrap. A paper towel around the base keeps the ooze from leaking onto bedsheets.pic.twitter.com/WN43aT7216

To apply the Opsite:
First wash your hands and then your new tattoo, with unscented soap. Dry with paper towels, and then let it air dry completely.

Clean the area AROUND the fresh tattoo with rubbing alcohol. This strips the surrounding skin of its natural oils and helps the Opsite stick really well to your skin for several days! (#HAXX!)pic.twitter.com/U9pHXXoEeh1 odpowiedź 0 podanych dalej 6 polubionychPokaż ten wątek -
Cut a strip of Opsite that is slightly larger than your tattoo.
If your tattoo is really big, you can cut smaller strips and overlap them so that they cover the whole thing. If it's a bendy body part (eg shoulder) use several smaller strips to make it easier. (Trust me!)pic.twitter.com/xjKoA0Ddrg

Remove half the backing paper, apply the Opsite slowly from one end, and remove the second half as you roll the rest onto your skin, avoiding air bubbles as much as you can. (This is easier with smaller pieces of Opsite!)
Then remove the protective plastic over the top.pic.twitter.com/7cHLNljeau
