So lately there's been a lot of fuss over gaming "forcing diversity" and people getting upset that a character is gay, trans, etc. and I want to take a moment and try to explain this to folks that are having trouble understanding the issue, as a straight white dude myself.
People of all colours, genders and orientations have been forced to play straight white male characters forever, and seen it as normal. God forbid some straight white dudes have to play someone different for once, and realise that that is just as normal? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Sure it's normal. We're in a different time, people no longer have to play games featuring characters different from them. Now people can curate the experiences they want.
