Doesn’t sound worth killing yourself over? People use exactly the same justification for crunching on game projects. Helping others doesn’t mean you can ignore self care.

I’m coming off super blunt here. All year round we talk about healthy work and crunch is bad and then for a week some people think the rules don’t apply.

. It's far easier to know you can be selective with events and take nights off if you feel like it, when you're established and have a stable career and income. I suspect it's a completely different game for freelancers, students and people trying to break into the industry.

Yup. Same. And I'm fully aware that that in itself is a privilege.
