I for one would prefer this. Seeing me and my friends kill ourselves over games week is too much.

Why do you and your friends do it? Is that any different from crunching?

Obligation, a sense of pressure for progress, a desire to give back to and learn from the community, social pressure, to see friends, to be seen, to do business and myriad reasons.

Doesn’t sound worth killing yourself over? People use exactly the same justification for crunching on game projects. Helping others doesn’t mean you can ignore self care.

I’m coming off super blunt here. All year round we talk about healthy work and crunch is bad and then for a week some people think the rules don’t apply.
